Provide it with bright light, regular watering, and well-draining conditions and it will thrive. While philodendron plants flower, they are primarily grown for their brilliant foliage as their blooms are rather insignificant and rare when grown indoors. 

Philodendron can survive in a range of lighting conditions but grow most steadily in bright, indirect light. Low-light conditions may result in leggy growth. 

Watering - Give the plant a thorough soaking once every 1 to 1.5 weeks, allow the top 2-3 inches of soil to dry out between waterings and then water well.
